It started with a locksmith license in 2010. Working in New York City, we were called to open, service, and install safes for everyone from small business owners to homeowners protecting family heirlooms. Over years of that fieldwork, a pattern became clear: a lot of people were buying the wrong safes.
Some looked solid but weren't. Others claimed fire ratings they couldn't actually deliver in real conditions. And most customers had gotten advice from someone who'd never picked up a locksmith tool in their life.
After a stint in online marketing and eCommerce, the pull of the safe industry was too strong to ignore. By 2017, the technical work resumed. In 2020, Alpine Safes launched as a nationwide business — built on a simple idea: sell only safes we trust, from brands we've personally vetted, and back every purchase with real support.
In New York City, our sister company Sherlocks Safes handles hands-on installation and service. For customers everywhere else, we work with a trusted network of technicians across the country to make sure you're never without support.
